Lavender

How to grow:

Lavender can be grown indoors or out. It will tolerate the cold (depending on the variety you purchase), but thrives in the warmth. Grow it in well drained soil in the full sun and protect from harsh winds. This plant is relatively drought resistant (once it is established) ~ until then, be sure to water regularly.

Prune:

After flowering is complete, cut back the green to about 1/3 into the woody part.

How to harvest for use:

Pick the flowers and foliage and either put in a dry vase or hang to dry. Or you could extract it's oil ~ http://www.lavenderfarm.com/products/essential.htm
