If you're trying to treat a bacterial infection (bronchitis, for example) ~ choose an herb that contains phenol and thymol in it to fight the infection. Inhaling the vapors of thyme, tea tree or clove oil will treat respiratory tract infections. Add the oil to a vaporizer or a hot bath and inhale the steam.
For sinus infections and upper respiratory infections, try horseradish and/or nasturtium oils.
To help prevent such infections, try keeping your immunity up by taking echinacea or Siberian ginseng 3 weeks before the cold season ~ and meditate for a short time each day.
Stay healthy!
